General Manager

New South Wales Athletic League Inc  (NSWAL)


The NSWAL has been the governing body of NSW Professional Athletics since 1903.


We are seeking candidates for the roll of General Manager with the NSW Athletic League for the season 2017-18. The role encompasses the following tasks:


*To organise the logistics of equipment (set up / pull down).

*Events Management.

*Office duties including Registrations, Entrée Fees, and communicating with athletes and trainers.

*Developing new Carnivals and organising proposals for government grants and sponsorships.

*Overseer Photo Finish Operations.

*Must have strong I T skills.


The position would also involve working with the assistant general manager and media manager whose roles involve releasing media and social information to promote the sport to new potential members.


The position would suit a self-motivated sports minded person looking for hands on practical experience and would initially be assisted by the committee and current assistant G M in a friendly team environment.


Currently the season consists of three regional and five metropolitan carnivals from October to April. Initially this role has a moderate honorarium of $3,000 plus expenses, with a generous incentive for new Registrations, Sponsorships and Grants being available. However an increase would be considered subject to the incumbent’s performance.
